At Alto Pest Control, we specialize in controlling a wide range of pests common to the Newcastle area, including ants, spiders, rodents, silverfish, cockroaches, bed bugs, ticks, wasps, flies, fleas.

Are your treatments pet and child friendly?

Accepted Answer

Yes, our pest control methods are designed to be safe for both pets and children. We use environmentally friendly and low-toxicity products to ensure the well-being of your loved ones.

Question 4

Is it safe to remain on the property while the treatment is being carried out?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Alto Pro uses safe pesticides; however we do recommend that you vacate if possible during the application to keep everyone safe. We encourage people to wait until treatment is fully dry and enough time has passed for the room(s) to be ventilated. 2-4 hours, but we understand this isn't always possible. If you are unable to leave please let our technician know, so they can work around this.

We highly recommend asthma sufferers, pregnant women, babies and young children to stay away during treatment and for a minimum of 4 hours after treatment.

Question 5

Do I need to take my pets away during treatment?

Accepted Answer

Pets, especially dogs should be removed from the property for about 1-2 hours, or until the treated areas are dry. This will vary depending on the weather, but we encourage closer to the 2 hours just to be safe. Other pets, such as birds, fish etc, if unable to be removed will need to be covered with a sheet or towel.

Do I need to prepare before a treatment?

This is depending on the type of treatment. If you are having a general pest treatment we encourage that all clothes are removed from the clothesline, all windows and doors are closed, and pet bowls are turned over or removed from area. Inside we encourage you to mop and vaccum your floors, as we do not recommend this after treatment for 7 days, just to avoid disturbance of treatment. For rodent treatments there isn't anything to prepare for.

Our technician will let you know on the day if there is anything additional that needs attending to.

Are your technicians available after hours or on weekends?

Yes, our technicians work after hours and on weekends. We cannot always guarentee a day/time, but will do our best to accomodate. If you need a specific time or day, give Alto Pro a call to discuss on 0490 086 699.

Do you offer emergency pest control services?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we understand that pest problems can arise unexpectedly. We offer emergency pest control services to address urgent issues promptly. Contact the team at Alto Pro, and we’ll do our best to schedule a service as soon as possible.

Which areas of the property will be treated?

Accepted Answer

This all depends on what pest(s) are being treated. For a general pest spray, we will treat the following areas, unless otherwise specificed by the owner.

Exterior of property - windows and door frames, sub-floors, lawns, fences, eaves, garden beds, paths, garages, sheds, cubby houses etc.

Interior of property - door hinges, skirting boards, roof cavity, sub-floor, door openings, window frames, underneath sinks / around pipes and in cracks and crevices.

Do I need to empty my kitchen cupboards for treatments?

Accepted Answer

No, gel baits are used in kitchen areas, so emptying out cupboards fully is generally not necessary. The gel baits are applied to cracks and crevices and hinges to avoid contaminating food.

If our technician sees a reason for emptying out cupboard, such as a large infestation,  they will advise.

What if I touch areas that have been sprayed?

Accepted Answer

If the product is already dry it will adhere to the surface and will not contaminate or harm you. If product is still wet or you are concerned, we encourage you wash your hands as soon as possible with warm and soapy water.

Question 12

Will I still see pests after the treatment?

Accepted Answer

You will possibly still see pests for a short period after treatment; however any pests that wander in from outside will cross treated areas and die shortly afterwards. We encourage you wait a full 2 weeks before being concerned, as these pests need time to die off. However, if you have any concerns after a treatment we encourage you to call us to discuss.

How long will the treatment take to work?

This all depends on the type of treatment you have had or pest problem we're dealing with. For treatment of general pests, this could happen immediately. Or, for your harder to eradicate pests it could take up to two weeks, such as German cockroaches, which has a rapid breeding cycle. These type of treatments may require more than one spray to eliminate, but will be discussed prior to treatment.

Do you offer warranties?

Yes, we offer warranties on most of our treatments, however there are different conditions depending on the type of treatment and pests being treated. For more information on warranties please contact us to discuss.

Question 15

How often should I have a pest control treatment done?

Accepted Answer

We recommend a general preventative treatment every 12 months. Or, if you notice any signs of an infestation, it is best to call in a professional as soon as possible.
